The holiday season is busy for everyone, and the new year is fast approaching with the hopes and dreams of our hearts carried forward with renewed anticipation. This is a time to pause, reflect, and refocus. The past two years have brought challenges to many, and it often seems the world has been spinning out of control as threats to freedom have increased exponentially. Lockdowns, mandates, and societal unrest have caused heartbreak for millions of people who have lost loved ones, jobs, their health, or financial security. Our nation is divided, and we are at a critical point as we decide the course for our future. In this episode, Linda shares her heartfelt Christmas wish for you and for the future of America, and reminds us that faith, family, friends, and freedom are the gifts that provide true prosperity.

Linda:

Welcome. Thank you for tuning in to this episode of the Prosperity 101 Breakroom Economics Podcast. My name is Linda J. Hansen, your host, and the author of Prosperity 101 Job Security Through Business Prosperity: The Essential Guide to Understanding How Policy Affects Your Paycheck and the creator of the break room economics online course. The book, the course, and the entire podcast library can be found on prosperity101.com. I seek to connect boardroom to break room and policy to paycheck by empowering and encouraging employers to educate employees about the public policy issues that affect their jobs. My goal is to help people understand the foundations of prosperity, the policies of prosperity, and how to protect their prosperity by becoming informed, involved, and impactful. I believe this will lead to greater employee loyalty, engagement, and retention, and to an increased awareness of the blessings and responsibilities of living in a free society.

Listen each week to hear from exciting guests and be sure to visit prosperity101.com. My Christmas Wish. Faith, family, friends, and freedom. Thank you for listening today. It's Christmas week 2021. It's a busy season of the year for everyone, regardless of the holiday you celebrate. And the new year's fast approaching with all the hopes and dreams of our hearts carried forward with renewed anticipation. This is a time to pause, reflect, and refocus. This season reminds us that faith, family, friends, and freedom are the most important things in life, and they are the gifts that provide true prosperity. Ever since the pandemic hit, it seems the world has been spinning out of control and threats to freedom have increased exponentially. Lockdowns, mandates, and societal unrest have caused heartbreak for millions of people who have lost loved ones, jobs, their health, or financial security.

Linda:

I've heard many people say the last two years seem to have blended into one. That 2020 feels like the year that wasn't. Well, we made chuckle when we hear that, but the past two years have been truly challenging for people across the globe. Last year, I recorded an episode entitled My Christmas Wish. The past two years have brought a whirlwind of change and it does feel like the years have blended into one, but there are timeless truths that remain. My thoughts at Christmas 2021 echo my comments made in 2020. And they are even more meaningful when we reflect on all that has transpired in the last 12 months. Thus, I'm including that episode in this one. May it bring hope and encouragement. And as we celebrate the birth of Christ, once again, may the blessings of faith, family, friends, and freedom be yours now and all always.

Linda:

My Christmas wish. It's Christmas week, 2020, the year that will be remembered as one of the most unusual and challenging years of our lifetimes. Christmas, the celebration of the humble birth of Jesus, the revolutionary leader who through love and sacrifice, changed the world as he gave his life for us all. Whatever you believe or don't believe about Jesus, there is no denying the fact of his impact for our times even divided by his life. We have Christmas and hope because he lived. The holiday season reminds us of what is most important in our lives, faith, family, friends, and the freedom to be together.

Linda:

This year has brought pain to many. Our hearts ache as lockdowns and quarantines have separated us from our loved ones. Many families are grieving lost loved ones who will never again be joining at the holiday table. Business owners and the employees dependent on the jobs they provide are struggling to survive under lockdown mandates that are inconsistent, oppressive, and often not adhered to by the government leaders issuing the mandates. Our nation is divided. And we are at a critical point as we decide the course for our future. What is my wish for this Christmas?

Linda:

First and foremost, I wish for all to come to know the savior who is born on Christmas day. He is the light of the world and the one who will lead us out of this dark time in our nation's history and through any personal pain we may be experiencing. Every person and every nation will face challenges and hardships. And God is the one who can guide through the challenges and work all for good if we allow him to do so. Beyond that, I pray for truth to reign in our government and in our media.

Linda:

I pray for freedom to be preserved and protected for all citizens in America. I pray that all corruption and dishonesty would be exposed and that justice will be rightly served to anyone who has caused harm to our nation. I pray for unity in families and in our country. I pray America will still be able to shine the beacon light of freedom for the world, and that we will be able to offer the opportunities for success that have helped millions to achieve their American dreams. I pray God will bless, protect, and preserve America and that he will richly bless you and your family. Thank you. And Merry Christmas.
