We Lost Count But The Lost Still Count – The Border Crisis – with Craig Huey – [Ep. 196]

My guest today, Craig Huey, shares that desire to educate. Craig Huey has created thousands of jobs and knows how to make change. Having navigated and weathered six recessions, his award winning advertising agency, Creative direct marketing group, has turned small businesses into multimillion dollar companies and won 108 awards. Craig is a prolific author and has appeared on numerous tv, radio and podcasts nationwide. He also writes the Huey Report, where you can get news and analysis you won't find anywhere else. Linda, it's great to be with you.

Linda J. Hansen:

Well, it's great. We didn't really know each other before we scheduled this interview, so it's been great to get to know you a bit as we prepared. And there's so many different directions we could take because there's so many issues that are important to citizens across the nation and the world, of course, but also to business owners and employers, employees here in America. But today, I've titled this episode we lost count. But the lost still count, and it's related to the border crisis. And I know this is something that concerns you, as it does me. We see millions and millions and millions of people coming in through an open border. We can't really have a country, a sovereign country, when we have no border. And what is happening is that millions of people are getting lost and the needs of people are getting lost, too. So as you think about how this affects business, what would be your first top line thought?

Craig Huey:

Well, the first thing I would say is that we have a very dangerous moment of time in our history that the fact is right now, because we don't even know how many people have come across in the last two years, seven to 8 million are the usual amount that they talk about, 1.7 million. And it's probably more than that because you don't know. These are people who are the getaways. The gotaways are the ones who, they know. They came in, they saw them, but they weren't arrested. And all these millions of other people, they're saying, here I am, take me, I want my welfare, I want my free education, I want my free medical, want my $5,000 credit card and send me a ticket to the city of my choice. And so these are people that are going to impact our taxes, impact our deficit that we're running right now, result in more cost to the business owner, more costs to the individual, more inflation, the most immoral tax of all. It really is a huge mess. It's going to impact us in many ways that we can't even imagine. Because, Linda, instead of these people coming in and getting a job, they're getting basically welfare. They're basically getting dependency. What happens when people start living off the government? They create this dependency where they're not independent, they're not productive, they don't become workers, they don't become entrepreneurs. A small number will, but most become dependent. And then probably as a business owner, one of the things I've got to take into consideration, not only is this going to impact my costs, my taxes, but what are the dangers with these gotaways, that one of them is a terrorist. Remember, some 2000 Americans died because of 19 terrorists. And we could have a terrorist coming in. And I really believe we do based upon the fact that 150 countries, we know people from 150 countries have come in. And why would you hide? Why would you not get all your goodies? Well, you have a criminal record. You're bringing in drugs or human trafficking or something that you don't want people to see, or you're a terrorist who is coming in with evil intent. And it could take a year, it could take two years. But as a business owner, in looking at from selling products and services, the economy and what have you, when you have a terrorist attack, it's not just a local area, it starts impacting the state nationally. And if you have multiple terrorist attacks, then you really have a danger.

Linda J. Hansen:

Well, that's true. And then you also deal with fear people end up having fear. And the media and our current administration and the World Health Organization, World Economic Forum, the UN, they really like to cultivate a culture of fear. I call it fear porn because they get people almost addicted to fear. And it's like, oh, my gosh, the worst is going to happen. And actually they're preparing us for what they are planning. And a lot of times with the terrorists coming across the border, as we've seen more recently, a bulk of the people coming across, and it's millions. You mentioned 1.5 million. I've heard estimates 1012 million that have come across. Biden administration and I mean, we're talking large cities, right? And so they've come across, and most are fighting age males. They're dressed well. They don't look like they're needing anything. But at the same time, we give all these people like $5,000 gift cards. We transport them to a city of their choice or maybe where powers that be want them to go. We house them. I was just watching, I mentioned to you before the interview, I was watching some videos by Ben Berkwam on Real America's voice, and he was showing what is happening to the city of Chicago. The cities of New York and Chicago are overrun. And these sanctuary cities, some of the residents are now getting very fed up, and they're realizing that these policies that their leaders have allowed are really hurting the citizens. So when we talk about we lost count, but the loss still count. Yes, we've lost count of how many have come in. We've lost count of the gotaways. But I would say, too, we've lost count of how many citizens and business owners, children have been affected by this influx of illegals into our nation.

Craig Huey:

Absolutely. As a business owner, I've got to take a look at my employees. This is going to impact the health care system. I got to take a look at my employees. This is going to impact wages and competition for jobs. I'm looking at the issue of terrorism. Going back to that, if there is a terrorist attack, you mentioned about creating fear. Well, you have people fearful to go to the mall, fearful to go to Disneyland, fearful to go to someplace that could be a target. If there's a series of terrorist attacks, you're going to have a furthering of a recessionary type impact upon the economy as people pull back and do not go out, do not buy, do not spend. It's a Pandora's box that has been opened up by the Biden administration. And they may be happy that many of these people who are here illegally, when they go out and get their driver's licenses, many of them will not check the box. I am not a citizen. So that they'll automatically become a voter. Many of them, right now, the nonprofit groups that are helping them come into the US and go to different cities, they also are signing some of these people up for voter registration. And so you're going to have a change of people voting because Biden let me in. You're going to have people voting saying, well, I don't want to have my welfare stopped. And so they don't understand American tradition. They don't understand American history. They don't understand the free market. What they understand is government. And what they understand is that they are receiving benefits that they want to see continue. So we've opened up a Pandora's box, and that's why it's so urgent that as a business owner, I take a look at this, I say, this has got to stop. We got to be able to stop this and prevent it from happening. Linda one of the issues, of course, of this whole danger is that in communist China, they want to expand and control more territory. They want to take over Taiwan areas of the Pacific. They believe a kind of a self righteous Marxism, that they're the superior country and they want to control and expand. And they've told their populace, be ready for war, get ready for war. And for them, we're the number one enemy for us. Biden says they're our friendly competitor. But what's happened just this year, Linda, this year, 52,700 Chinese young men in their twenty s and early 30s, military age, coming in at packs of 510, 15 that have no families. This is like an invasion of an invisible army, an invisible army that we don't know what's going on with this. Nobody's finding out, and it's endangering all of us. We already have. The communist party have, of course, sent the spy balloon. But they've got a new base, spy base in Cuba. They've got this lab that's been discovered. We don't know how many biotech labs exist in the United States. We've accidentally found one in Redley, California, of all places, by somebody connected with a communist party, with genetically engineered mice and lethal things like Ebola and Covid. What is going on? We're not standing up and saying enough is enough.

Linda J. Hansen:

You're right. We have not stood up to it, I think a lot, because the mainstream media doesn't let the average citizen know, and people are busy going to their jobs. They're taking their kids to soccer practice or swim practice, and they cannot keep up, in a sense, on what is really happening. Unless you are going to choose to follow some non mainstream media outlets, you may not find the truth. And I have found that people have no idea the depth of this immigration crisis and what it brings. You mentioned even just the Chinese coming in, and they have police stations basically around in some of the bigger cities. It's amazing to me what is happening with this and their own surveillance on us. So we've got the Chinese. We also have Middle East terrorists coming in. And of course, not everybody that comes in is bad. I mean, as soon as you say anything, people say you're racist or whatever. But no, we're talking about real threats. And one of the things about terrorist groups, too, is they have sleeper cells. We don't know where these sleeper cells are. They're all over and they're in small towns and large towns, and all they have to do is say, now is the moment, and we could have major catastrophe all across America. But here's the thing, listeners. You are funding this. You are funding this with your tax dollars. So that is why you mentioned about how people don't understand that everything comes from the government. They don't understand our way of life, our system of government. That's why I do what I do with prosperity 101®, to try to help, and I'm sure why you do what you do, but to try to help educate people. And I'm just going to put a plug in. I am working to get my online course and the book translated into Spanish because I believe people come here and believe that they can have the land of milk and honey here in America. But you cannot have that if you end up having more people taking from the government than people giving to the government. The government has nothing until we give it to them first. So if we have more takers than givers, we are going to end up like so many fallen nations. So I believe it's imperative that we do this soon. We have people coming in here and becoming a big part of our society that have really no true understanding of why America has been a free country, why America has been a leader for prosperity, for human flourishing and freedom. And it's not only immigrants who don't understand that. But young people in our universities and who've come through the public education system and been indoctrinated to believe that America is bad. And so we really need to help people understand.

Craig Huey:

So, Linda, can I just congratulate you on that? Because that is so critically know we can talk about, and we have to talk about the potential terrorists, the people who are coming in simply because they want to get better help. They want welfare. But there are people coming in who want opportunity as well. And those are the people. I've got to tell you, I spoke to 2000 Hispanic pastors. Most of these pastors, their churches are less than maybe 50 people, and they speak Spanish in those churches. Most of them are people who are not legal. They love learning about American history. They never heard before that we were founded upon christian principles. Pastors were in shock and they were going hallelujah when they heard things like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and different people recognizing God. And they heard about the miracles that happened in the founding of America. And the pastors standing up for what was right during the American revolution, they were absolutely shocked because they never heard this before and they never thought of America being built upon a Christian foundation and christian principles. Just to hear the declaration. You know what? When I was in Cuba and I was talking to underground church in Cuba, I had to be very careful because of spies. What I said, you know, one thing is that the Declaration of Independence is about the fact that we're created equal and that all men are created equal and that they're endowed by their who, their creator with certain inalienable rights. Among these are life, liberty, and pursue the happiness. And they were like, what? And they come up to me afterwards and they say, do you have a copy of the US constitution? Do you have this declaration of independence? They were hungry for that because it was censored from them. They didn't know this. These pastors that I spoke to, these Hispanic pastors, they want to do right. They believe in protection of life. They believe in protection of individual freedom. They know what persecution means. They escape, many of them escape persecution. They want to be able to have protection of Israel. They want to be able to have family values. And yet they don't know this. And unless we speak up and use their language, because everything I said in both places, I had to have a translator, and that's so important. So what you're doing is really the start of what's absolutely necessary, because there's new voters and they don't know American history. And sadly, students going through the public school system, the government school system today don't know American history, so they don't know this. So we need to educate English, we need to educate Spanish. And what you're doing is great.

Linda J. Hansen:

Thank you. And when we talk about education, and I think at the title of this interview where I said we lost count, but the loss still count. Another lost part of our citizenry in this immigration crisis is the children. The children in the schools are lost to what is happening. And I say lost because they're losing their education. So many schools are forced to bring in portable classrooms. They have students coming in that speak multiple different languages. And how are they going to teach them? How can the teachers teach them? And what happens to the students who are children of the tax paying citizens? They just get lost. And so parents, please pay attention to what's going on in your schools, not only to the curriculum, but also what is happening to the class count, what's happening to the languages used in the classroom, what is happening, because we need to educate these future generations. We need to think about these policies like statesmen politician thinks about the next election, but a statesman thinks about the next generation. We have had too many politicians making policy. We need to change that and have character driven statesmen driving policy. And that means statesmen and stateswomen driving policy that will truly help the next generation. And we will have many immigrants. Some may be going back to their homelands, some may not. But our demographics are greatly changing. We need to educate them. So I appreciate what you said. I thank you that you are ministering to people that are Spanish speaking and from other cultures, and I hope that I can get that done. So do you have any closing comments for employers who might like to help their employees understand all of these issues?

Craig Huey:

Well, absolutely. First of all, for the employer to help educate those employees so they understand the free market, they understand how business operates, they understand what's up in this upcoming election. I encourage that. And for those businesses, for the president and the marketing director, probably one of the best books you can get because for any business owner being able to grow their business and increase the number of clients that they have, customers that they have, a book called multichannel Marketing. And so I have a book on multichannel marketing that tells all the marketing strategies and techniques that are working today, ones that are outside the box, one small businesses can afford, large businesses can afford. And these strategies and techniques, they will create a boom in your business sales if you apply them. So the multichannel marketing book is one that I would recommend.
