Thank you for tuning into this episode, which I have entitled, It’s a Republic - Will You Join the Fight to Keep It? It’s election week in America. I’m recording this on November 6, 2020, a little later in the week than usual for I’ve been helping with many election-related activities and doing all I can to promote honesty, integrity, and justice in our election process. America is in the midst of counting and recounting ballots to ultimately decide who will be our President and the leader of the Free World. Much is at stake, not only for our country but for the world. Many of us have heard a famous quote that was attributed to Benjamin Franklin. As he was walking out of Independence Hall after the Constitutional Convention in 1787, he was asked if we would have a republic or a monarchy. He responded in his well-known witty manner, “A republic if you can keep it.” Can we keep it? Let’s start with the basics.

Freedom. Our nation was founded to provide freedom. Freedom from tyranny. Freedom to flourish. Freedom to write and speak, to assemble, to worship, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. The preamble to our United States Constitution says, “We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” Our Constitution has guided as well for over two centuries, and it has also provided a framework of freedom for other countries who desired to achieve similar blessings of liberty.

I’d also like to share with you the American's Creed written by William Tyler Page in 1917 for it sums up how I feel about this amazing country. “I believe in the United States of America, as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation made of many sovereign states; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principals of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I, therefore, believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.”

I love America. No system of government is perfect. No leader is perfect. And our nation has certainly had its share of trying times now and in the past, but we always emerged united, usually settling our differences peaceably and with respect, leaders would come and go, but the guiding principles of our nation held firm. The guiding principles of our nation are at stake right now. The future of the free world is at stake right now. I believe we are currently in the fight for more than just this election. We are in the fight for the heart and soul of America. Many of us understand corrupt shame can occur in all segments of society. But what we are seeing unfold before our eyes is, in my opinion, an unbelievable assault on every citizen in this great country.

Universal mail-in ballots, touted as the only safe solution for voting during the COVID-19 pandemic are a hotbed for error and corruption. We have heard accounts of ballot harvesting more ballots than voters, dead people, and even pets submitting ballots. The common usual practice of election observing, simply observing to provide accountability as ballots are cast and later opened and votes are tallied, has often been denied to one party in flagrant violation of the law. Vote counting in several states mysteriously stopped, essentially simultaneously in the middle of the night, when President Trump led with comfortable margins. Somehow, after counting was resumed, a surprising number of ballots were now found to be for Joe Biden. Fascinating, isn’t it?

In some areas, nearly 100% of those middle-of-the-night ballots were counted for Joe Biden. Hmm. My dad always said if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it must be a duck, right? But here is where it gets interesting. The Left is great at telling us how to think, how to speak what we can write, where we can go, and oh, so much more. The sky is not blue. The grass is not green. What’s obvious to most common sense Americans has now been deemed wrong, racist, hate speech, and we have endured these and various other attacks on our basic ability to see through deception.

Most of my listeners are business owners, business owners who create the capital that funds this great nation. They are smart people, honest, hardworking, patriotic Americans who love God, their families, and their country. While this podcast is typically non-partisan, I like most of my listeners are unabashedly in favor of limited government, free enterprise, and individual liberty. We are in favor of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We are in favor of human flourishing. We are in favor of prosperity. We believe a stronger America makes for a stronger world.

Millions of people flocked to boat parades, buggy parades, tractor parades, marches, and the extremely popular rallies in favor of President Trump. Not since Ronald Reagan has America had a president who understood and connected with the people the way that Donald Trump has in his first term of office. People on the Left often wonder how their friends or relatives can support Donald Trump. I’ll tell you why we can support Donald Trump. He keeps his word to the American people. I’ve been involved in politics in one way or another for 40 years. I have never ever known an elected official to keep a list of the promises they made to the people who elected them and to hold themselves and their staff accountable to keeping those promises. Donald J. Trump has kept his promises to the American people. If you don’t believe me, visit PromisesKept.com to read for yourself.

As one of my recent podcast guests, the immigrant Elena Z. stated, “This election is not about personality. It is about direction.” Those of us who voted for Trump voted for direction. We voted for the Bill of Rights as outlined in our constitution. We voted for freedom for all people, regardless of race, sex, age, or ethnic background. We voted for prosperity for all people and the freedom for them to achieve their own American dreams. We voted for law and order. We voted for judges who will uphold the Constitution and not legislate from the bench. We voted for a strong military and to honor those who have fought for our freedom. We voted to support our law enforcement officers who worked tirelessly to protect us.

We voted for welcoming immigrants through legal immigration and to end crime-ridden sanctuary cities. We voted for an end to human trafficking of all kinds. We voted for energy independence. We voted for a clean environment that sets the standard for the world without unnecessary foreign treaties. We voted for reasonable use of taxpayer money when it comes to entitlement programs. We believe the best entitlement program is a job and we support the incredible economic growth that has occurred under this administration. We voted for domestic manufacturing and to bring our jobs back from foreign countries. We support an America First mindset, we will lead the world through a position of strength.

We support peace in the Middle East and applaud the amazing peace agreements that have occurred under this administration. Many of us believed we would never see this in our lifetimes. We voted for the right to worship as we choose and to send our children to the schools of our choice. We voted to support a culture of life, a culture that believes every life is valuable and worthy, and that protecting life from conception to natural death will benefit everyone. And we voted for the freedom to support and help those who may be in challenging situations and in need of assistance from others.

Donald Trump promised to drain the swamp. Many people had no idea how corrupt the swamp really is. But he has, in a sense, put his foot on the swamp beast and the beast is riding, fighting, screaming, clawing, and hissing as it fights to regain control. Countless people have e-mailed, texted, or called me in the past few days alarmed at what they are watching unfold. They feel an election is being stolen. If that is true, I pray for justice to be served. We simply want every legal ballot to be counted. Regardless, they have begun to realize that they must get in the fight to save our country. It is a republic if we can keep it. Will you join the fight?
