Linda: Welcome. Thank you for tuning in to this episode of the Prosperity 101 Breakroom Economics podcast. My name is Linda J. Hansen, your host, and the author of Prosperity 101 Job Security Through Business Prosperity, The Essential Guide to Understanding How Policy Affects Your Paycheck, and the creator of The Breakroom Economics online course. The book, the course, and the entire podcast library can be found on Prosperity101.com. I seek to connect boardroom to breakroom and policy to paycheck by empowering and encouraging employers to educate employees about the public policy issues that affect their jobs. My goal is to help people understand the foundations of prosperity, the policies of prosperity, and how to protect their prosperity by becoming informed, involved, and impactful. I believe this will lead to greater employee loyalty, engagement, and retention and to an increased awareness of the blessings and responsibilities of living in a free society. Listen each week to hear from exciting guests and be sure to visit Prosperity101.com.

Thank you for tuning in today. You may be wondering about the title of this episode, Gesundheit, Don't Let It Pass. Don't worry. The meaning of the title will become clear. I do not have a guest today, as I'm sharing with you some of the content from a recent speech I gave entitled Navigating Cancel Culture, Tips For Employers and Employees. Unless you have been hiding under a rock, which is often tempting, I know, you have likely heard of cancel culture and you have most likely heard of or even you may know people who have been canceled or censored after writing or speaking their opinions on various matters. Maybe you are the one who has been canceled. And now you may be asking, what does cancel culture have to do with the word gesundheit? Well, let's first look at a definition of cancel culture found on Wikipedia. Cancel culture or call out culture is a modern form of ostracism in which someone is thrust out of social or professional circles, whether it be online on social media or in person, those subject to this ostracism are said to have been canceled.

I do know cancel culture confuses. It creates that strategic fog of war. I say strategic because it's not done by accident. It is carefully planned and executed. For example, cancel culture has what I will call a double speak. Let's look at some of the words and phrases we hear in the news all the time. Peaceful protests, insurrection, anti-abortion, my body, my choice, pro women, believe all women, gender phobic, racist, equity, count all votes, voter suppression, pandemic of the unvaccinated, for the greater good, the great reset, end of democracy, and don't forget, follow the science.

We'll take a look at a few of these in more depth. But before that, I would like to read a perfect example of the double speak that often occurs on any given subject. I'm quoting a tweet by Matt Walsh regarding the teaching of critical race theory, often known as CRT in our schools. We'll not dive into the curriculum during this episode, but many parents have expressed concern over the content of such curriculum and many have been silenced from doing so. Some have been labeled and even profiled by the FBI as domestic terrorists, as bureaucrats have tried to squash their voices. Matt Walsh's tweet sums up the swirl of cancel culture perfectly. Here's the quote: CRT isn't taught in schools, but you better not ban it because that's racist. Even though it isn't taught, but we need to keep it although it isn't there. Yet, it should still be legal to teach it, though it isn't taught anyway. In conclusion it doesn't exist. Please stop attacking it. Now you may laugh, but that pretty much sums up the way it is.

Let's take a look at another phrase, peaceful protests. In the summer of 2020 and on into 2021, many US cities were ravaged by violence and riots. Buildings were burned. People were injured and some were killed. I doubt anyone who lived in or owned a business in certain areas of downtown Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, Chicago, or even the smaller town of Kenosha, Wisconsin would describe what happened in their cities as peaceful protests. Few people were held accountable even as federal buildings were burned and law enforcement officers were injured or killed. Yet, the so-called insurrection where no one was killed. Other than an unarmed white woman killed by a policeman has been described on par with September 11th, terrorist attacks and Pearl Harbor. That's another example of cancel culture double speak.

Now you've all heard the phrase, my body, my choice. This has been the rallying cry of abortion rights activists for years, that the murder, dismembering, or poisoning intended to end the life of a unique individual, an unborn child, allowable from conception to birth and even sometimes after birth is called the right for a woman to choose what she does with her body. But the right for a person to decide whether or not they want to receive medical treatments or experimental vaccines is denied. And they are basically told not your body, not your choice. And if they refuse to go along, they are treated as if they're second class citizens.

Here's another example of double speak. Neither Joe Rogan nor Bill Gates or doctors. The famous podcaster, Joe Rogan, shared of his own experiences and treatments while having COVID. And he has had various guests on to discuss the issues in depth. Bill Gates is a well known billionaire who often shares his opinions on vaccines and medical issues. Let me repeat, neither Joe Rogan nor Bill Gates are medical doctors. Each are sharing their opinions, yet the media and the elites fawn over Gates and Rogan gets taken off YouTube. Why? A little research can help you find the answer to that question. And let's just say the answer will involve dollar signs.

What about the phrase, count all votes? Sounds so good, does it? Why wouldn't we want to count all votes. The discerning citizen will see through that line and demand that we only count legal votes, legal votes that are cast by living and breathing legal citizens who vote only once and who can show a proper ID are the only votes that should be counted. And those votes should have a proper chain of custody and transparency to assure they have not been altered or destroyed in any way. All votes should not count, all legal votes should.

And then there is the word equity. It is so often heard and it sounds so good. But let's remember that equity is not the same as equality. In America we are all guaranteed under the law to have equal opportunity. We are not guaranteed equal outcome.

Double speak can be so subtle. Cancel culture will often want to come after your livelihood in efforts to silence you if you don't fit their narrative. A prime example is Mike Lindell. Mike Lindell, owner of MyPillow and the file founder of the Lindell Recovery Network has worked tirelessly regarding election integrity issues. For his desire to help our nation, this multi-millionaire has been de banked by his financial institution. This has happened to a variety of people who are speaking out in favor of election integrity, America First policies, and support of our United States constitution. Did you ever think your bank would cancel your accounts because of your political beliefs? It's happening in cancel culture.

Sports figures are also being canceled if they speak out against mandates or other issues they feel are important. One high profile example is well known Green Bay Packer quarterback, Aaron Rogers. He declined the vaccine and was criticized profusely for doing so. In an effort to silence him, the cancel culture elites are now claiming he should be traded for simply having Ayn Rand's book, Atlas Shrugged, on his bookshelf. I've read Atlas Shrugged and it's on my bookshelf. I'll bet many of you own it as well. Are we next?

What are the roots of cancel culture? Why are we even dealing with this at this point in our nation's history? Don't we have the first amendment, the right to free speech? Our constitution guarantees the freedom of speech, press, assembly, and religion and so much more. How did we get here? To answer that, I'm going to ask you if you've ever heard of the number 885454. Remember that number, 85454. Why is that number significant? If you are a long time listener to my podcast, you'll recognize that number. That number became the 'name' of my 96 year old friend, Edward Mosberg. Edward and I have not met in person, but we have spoken on the phone several times. He is a kind, sweet man. But Edward was a Jew living in Poland during world war II. At that time, people who were deemed unclean or unfit for society, the Jews or anyone who helped the Jews, were isolated often in camps where they were stripped of their freedom, identity, dignity, and often their life.

Edward Mosberg became number 85454 and he and his family were forced to live in a concentration camp. The number 85454 is tattooed on his arm and he can tell you how cancel culture and a tyrannical regime led to him witnessing the horrific deaths of many of his family members. The emotion of those moments can still be heard as he shares the vivid and traumatic memories. And we ask, how could good people allow that to happen? Fear is a great motivator. Fear can be good or bad. Sometimes it's for our good. It keeps us from burning our hands on a hot stove or driving headline into a concrete wall. Fear can also keep us from doing good things like speaking up when we know we should no longer be silent. We all have fight or flight reflexes and fear of being ostracized socially, deprived of necessary items for survival or fear of death or harm for ourselves or those we love can silence us when we know in our hearts, we should resist.

We've heard a lot recently about mass formation psychosis or maybe you've not heard about it because those who have discussed it like Dr. Robert Malone or Joe Rogan or Dr. Naomi Wolf or others have been, you guessed it, canceled. But let's break this down and see how mass formation psychosis applies to America today and to the title of this podcast episode. Mass formation psychosis involves lack of social connectedness and sense making, large amounts of latent anxiety and passive aggression, inundated with narrative of plausible object of anxiety, strategy for coping with object of anxiety, grouping with collective single mindedness, new object to focus replaces previous concerns, affected group bonds and connects, the field of reason narrows. People become unable to consider other viewpoints. Leaders are often revered and infallible. A society under the spell of mass formation psychosis will fall to totalitarianism.

Many people will hear this and say, "Well, yeah, but that could never happen here. Not in America." Really? Let's look. Let's go back to the timeframe when my friend Edward Mosberg was young. Did you know that Germans issued gesundheit passes or health passes during World War II? This was one of the tactics used to cancel certain members of their society. Of course, this was all done for the greater good and to protect the health of the citizens. They created a crisis, promoted fear, and promised to protect the citizens by appealing to the citizens' desire for safety and health. Sound familiar? In many countries and in some places in America COVID vaccines are mandatory. If you do not have them, you are treated as if you are not a citizen. You are not allowed to participate in normal society. In some places, the unvaxxed are not allowed to shop, travel, work, or in some cases receive medical treatments and they could be charged exorbitant fines for being unvaxxed. Some countries are detaining unvaxxed citizens in detention camps and several states in the USA are considering this.

This is especially curious as data shows vaccinated people often have similar or sometimes even higher incidences of contracting or transmitting COVID. So the vaccinations are not for the sole purpose of preventing disease. If not for disease prevention, then why do we have the mandates? It's not just vaccine mandates, the mask mandates limit freedom too. If masks work, why do we need to social distance? And if either of those work, why do we need the vaccine? And if the vaccine works, why do the vaccinated need to wear a mask and social distance and require the unvaccinated people to get the vaccine to protect the vaccinated? Double speak. It's like putting on a life preserver so your friend can be safe going swimming even though you plan to stay on dry land.

In addition to all of that, the vaccine mandates violate the Nuremberg Code, which was adopted after the Holocaust in hopes of protecting individuals from being forced to accept medical treatments or experiments against their will and without informed consent. The mandates also violate constitutional rights and laws supporting medical privacy. It's insanity. When is enough, enough? Will our ability to communicate be next? Will big tech shut off our phones if we're not vaxxed? This is not as impossible as it may seem.

What can we do? This short poem was written by Pastor Martin Niemöller in 1946. He was decrying the cowardice of many, including himself, that led to the Holocaust. The poem is called First They Came. First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out because I was not a communist. Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionist, and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Now let's think back to the gesundheit pass. How can we prevent such tragedies from happening in our country or in other places around the world? Whether you are an employer, an employee, a parent, a student, or a brave truck driver participating in the convoys for freedom around the world right now, we must remember, stand for truth. We must also remember that fear is a reaction. Courage is a decision, and courage is contagious. Silence is not a strategy. And if we are to win this war, and it is a war for the heart and soul of our nation, we must remember what Thomas Jefferson said. The two enemies of the people are criminals and government. So let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.

And how can we do that? You can make a difference. We, the people, are still in charge of America. Things can change and you can make a difference. How? Well, I'll be sharing some ideas. Pick one thing, try to do one thing a day to protect your freedom and the freedom for your children and grandchildren. You can attend meetings. There's lots of patriot related groups around. You can attend meetings. Find one that fits your personality, your needs, your schedule, but attend a meeting. Volunteer. Be a poll worker or an election worker. Run for office. Even at the local level, having qualified, trustworthy individuals to fill local offices is so important. Educate others. Don't be afraid to speak about these things to others. We, the people, are in charge of this country so we, the people, need to be educated.

Make a phone call. Call an elected official, give them your opinion. Better yet, send an email or write a letter. Did you know that if you send an email or write a letter to your representatives in Washington, DC, they view that as the same as 1000 people contacting them. And if you do so to your state legislator, they view that as 100 people contacting them. They need to hear from you on the issues that are important to you. You can also peacefully protest. When we peacefully protest, we can change the world. We don't need violence, nor should we ever advocate it. Peaceful protests can change the world. And as we educate and inform others on truth, we know that we, the people, can take back this country. Talk to your family. Talk to your employees. If you're an employee, talk to your employer. Each one reach one so that we can get we, the people, activated to be in charge of this country once again.

Be involved at local, state, and national levels as much as you can. Know your rights. Read the constitution, Understand it, even focus just on the Bill of Rights. Know your rights and use your voice. And employers, I believe you are the missing link to saving this country. Why should the woke employers be the only ones deciding the direction of this country? Small businesses provide the majority of jobs in this nation. Please speak up. Don't be afraid. You've been afraid. I've talked to many employers who were afraid to speak up. I don't blame them, but I would ask them now, "How's that been worth working out for you?" If you care about your employees, your family, your country, now is the time to speak up. If you are an employee, speak up. Ask your employer to provide nonpartisan policy and civics information to employees. It can be done so easily and we can educate a whole new generation on the importance of our constitution and the beautiful freedoms it provides to American citizens.

Employers, help employees understand policy. Again, talk to your employees, help them understand how certain laws or regulations impact your business, how it'll impact their jobs. If they know you have their best interests at heart, they will be open to learning from you. We all must seek out non-mainstream sources of information if we truly want to learn the facts about what's happening at our nation's borders, what's being taught in the schools, what really happened on January 6th, the vaccine passports, China and the CCP, the rising crime rates, religious freedom, election integrity, and more. If you want to know truth, you must be responsible to seek it.

And let's remember, it's not the government's job to protect my health, it's their job to protect my rights. So I will tell you, it's not the government's job to protect your health, it's the government's job to protect your rights. The government officials work for us. We do not work for them. We are their leaders and there's more of us than there are of them. And like I said, last I checked, we, the people, are still in charge of our government so we need to act like it. America is the last best hope for freedom in the world. We can and should say no to the gesundheit pass, the vaccine pass, and any other unconstitutional mandates that limit our freedoms as American citizens. Please stand up, speak up for freedom. And I'll close with this verse from second Chronicles, 7:14. If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and I will heal their land. Thank you. May God bless you and may God bless America.
